"She married a non-Muslim because there aren't any good Muslim men left" "She took off her hijab because her father lacked wisdom" "She cheated on her husband because he wasn't giving her enough attention" "She embraced feminism because she was wronged by her menfolk" "She doesn't respect her husband because he doesn't know how to lead" "She left Islam because of the sexist Muslim clerics" Notice a pattern yet? Today, a Muslimah can commit the most egregious of sins & even kufr, but instead of warranted condemnation, she's depicted as the poor victim. I have no issue in acknowledging how people can be pushed to making bad decisions based on how others have wronged them. However, the serious issue here is when a woman's wrongdoing is always justified by blanket statements such as the ones mentioned above. The easy option today is to point the finger at a man & the problem is pretty much solved. We talk about women as if they're beyond reproach!? Maybe the woman did what she did because she's defiant, evil, vile, corrupt, careless, delusional, self-entitled & on & on. Are these not possibilities? This skewed approach will only bring about a generation of women that knows nothing about accountability & self-introspection. Sadly, we're seeing much of it already. Just look at the divorce rate. Such women will never be taken seriously until they own up to their blunderss & handle them as mature adults. Until then, many will continue to dismiss them as emotional, unreasonable & intolerable. Women are NOT always the victim & men are NOT always to blame.
