Skit Videos about Confessing Sins Intended as Comedy While it is fine to have a sense of humor, as Muslims there are certain things we simply do NOT joke around about. Sh. Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb taught us: “Whoever mocks anything from the religion of Allāh, His reward or His punishment, has disbelieved. The proof is the statement of Allāh: ‘Say, was it at Allāh, His Āyāt, and His Messenger that you were mocking? Don’t make excuses now. You have disbelieved after having believed.’” (9:65–66) Skit videos in which a Muslim is confessing sins of zinā, eating pork, and weird acts of sexual perversion in attempts to garner laughter are NOT appropriate nor are they funny. They are tantamount to making a mockery and taking lightly the issue of sins. Such videos should be removed and their creators should find something else to joke about that doesn’t entail joking about the religion in any direct or indirect manner.
