According to Kashmir Media Service, Amir Hamza is currently enduring the ravages of imprisonment in Kotbhalwal Jail, Jammu, for raising voice for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. He was facing Indian cruelty and barbarity in the Indian torture cell even when his wife had given up her life. In a statement, the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat strongly condemned the Indian brutality and said that human rights activists should hold India accountable for this cruel treatment of illegally detained Kashmiri freedom leaders and activists. The statement reiterated the stance of the Hurriyat that a just and lasting solution to the Kashmir issue lies in the implementation of UN resolutions, however, a dignified solution to the Kashmir issue can be found through trilateral talks. Meanwhile, the Convener of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, and other Hurriyat leaders, in their separate statements in Islamabad, expressed their condolences to Ameer Hamza and other bereaved family members.
