Strengthening Waterbird Conservation in Zimbabwe
John Cassim
To bolster the implementation of the Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (AEWA) in Zimbabwe, ZimParks, the implementing institution, is today hosting various stakeholders at a workshop whose is to gather ideas that will inform the country’s position on AEWA matters.
The workshop will focus on national priorities and regional commitments. It also serves as preparation for the ninth Meeting of the Parties to AEWA (MOP 9), which will be held from November 4 to 9 in Botswana. This meeting precedes the CITES CoP 20, which will convene in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, between November 24 and December 5, 2025.
