SHORT AND SHARP WITH DR SOLA ALIMI June 20, 2025. 9:30pm. JUST KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE BALL! Football matches have been quite thrilling over the years! The soccer game is a game that has brought enemies and friends together for the same reason, to be entertained by two different teams on the same pitch. Eleven members in each team are on the pitch to contend for goals, playing just a single ball. As the marking, tackling, dribbling, and smart passes go on, there will also cheers and boos from the spectators that could capably distract any player whose eyes are not on the ball for goals. In the same vein, the cloud of witnesses and a host of demons are always among the spectators who are on the field to watch how you play with the ball (your divine purpose) to get great goals that will qualify you to lift up the trophy of destiny. Going for goals must come with zest, diligence, and intentionality. You must be positively desperate and determined to get good goals. Goals won't come cheap to anyone without a deliberate pedagogy and mastery of the art of soccer. Scientific thinking, intelligent methodology, tactical cohesion, and creative finishing are veritable ingredients to get goals by those whose eyes are on the ball. No matter what you do in the name of career, ministry, business, academics, and the likes, you may never get any goal worth celebrating until you're determined to simply keep your eyes on the ball, reach the finishing line, beat the goalkeeper to his game and fire a damning shot that will shake the nets and flame up the stadium with glamorous fireworks. At that point, you'll be shocked to see enemies and friends of yours dancing with frenzy, because your eyes on the ball eventually paid off. Henceforth, if you can't keep your eyes on the ball, don't blame your coach (Jesus) for losing the match of destiny. Go and ask Messi and Ronaldo, and they will tell you how vital it is to have your eyes on the ball...pressing towards the mark! That way, you'll be the cynosure of all eyes.
