Your feelings are valid. Don’t believe the people who tell you to “just get over it,” or act like your emotions are too much, too dramatic, or not real. Everyone experiences things differently, and what you feel—whether it’s sadness, anger, fear, joy, or anything in between—is a genuine part of your experience. You don’t need permission to feel. You don’t need to shrink yourself to make others more comfortable. Your emotions are not an inconvenience—they’re a signal that something matters to you.
There will always be people who don’t understand, who minimize or dismiss what you’re going through. But that doesn’t make your pain any less real, or your joy any less bright. Trust your inner world. Take the space and time you need to process what you feel without judgment. Healing and growth start with allowing yourself to be honest and gentle with your own heart. You’re not too sensitive—you’re human, and that’s a strength, not a flaw.
