🇿🇼🇨🇳🌍 This Thursday, the Zimbabwean delegation led by Hon. Prof. dr. Amon Murwira toured exhibitions at the Fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) held in Changsha, #china, which brought together government officials, business leaders, and development partners from across Africa and China. The expo aimed to consolidate economic ties further and foster shared development between China and Africa in promoting industrial development, trade facilitation, healthcare, infrastructure development, and people-to-people exchanges. This year’s edition is themed “China and Africa: Together Towards Modernization” and seeks to build on the momentum of the 2024 FOCAC outcomes, which outline ten key partnership action plans to strengthen cooperation across various sectors. The Expo showcased innovation and economic potential as well as the reflection of the deepening strategic partnership between Africa and China, a partnership grounded in shared aspirations for sustainable development and inclusive modernisation. The Zimbabwean government is leveraging heritage-based resources to promote local production for international markets, and the government is facilitating and promoting local production through proactive support in sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and mining, as well as facilitating capacity building for local producers to meet regional and international market demands.
