To promote water security and sustainability, NITI Aayog has initiated the restoration of the Raja Bandh Talab, Ghoramurga Village, Govindpur Aspirational Block, Dhanbad District, Jharkhand, on May 11, 2025, under the #sarovarsamriddhi initiative. सरोवर समृद्धि, Rejuvenation of 1,000 Water Bodies (RWB) is a NITI Aayog intervention aimed at ensuring local water security and sustainable water management. This initiative focuses on reviving traditional lakes, ponds, and tanks to enhance groundwater recharge, support agriculture, and bolster community livelihoods. Emphasizing community participation and technological interventions—such as desilting, pollution control, and afforestation—#jalsamriddhi seeks to restore ecological balance and resilience.
