Rejuvenation of Water Bodies!
As part of its ongoing commitment to water security and sustainable resource management, NITI Aayog initiated the rejuvenation of Khedewala Talab (Pond near Gram devta) in Tikkampur Village, Bahadrabad Aspirational Block, Haridwar District, Uttrakhand on 24 May 2025 under the #sarovarsamriddhi initiative. This initiative aims to improve long-term water resilience and benefit the local community through sustainable water practices.
सरोवर समृद्धि, Rejuvenation of 1,000 Water Bodies (RWB) is a NITI Aayog intervention aimed at ensuring local water security and sustainable water management. This initiative focuses on reviving traditional lakes, ponds, and tanks to enhance groundwater recharge, support agriculture, and bolster community livelihoods. Emphasizing community participation and technological interventions—such as desilting, pollution control, and afforestation—#jalsamriddhi seeks to restore ecological balance and resilience.
