NITI Aayog, on 20th May 2025, commenced the rejuvenation work of Chandeli Pond, Dargua Khalsa Gram Panchayat, Baldevgarh Aspirational Block, Tikamgarh District, Madhya Pradesh, under its #sarovalsamriddhi initiative. This initiative aims to enhance the water capacity of reservoirs throughout the village. The initiative सरोवर समृद्धि: Rejuvenation of 1,000 Water Bodies" (RWB) represents a strategic intervention by NITI Aayog, aimed at enhancing local water security and promoting sustainable water management practices. This program focuses on the revitalization of traditional water bodies, including lakes, ponds, and tanks, with the objectives of improving groundwater recharge, supporting agricultural activities, and strengthening community livelihoods. By prioritizing community engagement and incorporating technological advancements, such as desilting, pollution mitigation, and afforestation, the #jalsamriddhi initiative seeks to restore ecological balance and enhance resilience within these ecosystems.
