To examine the evolving landscape of AI and employment in India, NITI Aayog's Frontier Tech Hub has constituted an Expert Council focused on the 'Impact of AI on Jobs'. This council will assess AI's impact on employment, identify both short and long-term risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to mitigate job displacement. Its mandate includes fostering workforce readiness, leveraging AI for job creation, and ensuring inclusive growth and economic resilience. Through this initiative, NITI Aayog seeks to ensure that the integration of AI into India’s growth narrative is balanced, forward-looking, and socially responsive—leveraging technology not just for efficiency, but for equitable progress and resilience.
