When tribulations intensify and matters become confusing, it becomes necessary upon the Muslim to stick to what the Shari'ah has guided him to, and among the most important of these affairs are:
Firstly: *Clinging to the Qura'an and Sunnah.*
The Prophet -sallaAllahu alaihi wassalam- said:
“I have left among you that which if you cling to it, you will never go astray after me: The Book of Allah and my Sunnah.”
Secondly: *Sticking to the Jama'ah, listening to and obeying the ruler, and refraining from rebelling and going against them.*
He -sallaAllahu alaihi wassalam- said:
“Upon you is the Jama'ah, for the wolf devours the lone sheep.”
Thirdly: *Abundantly supplicating and seeking aid from Allah.*
He -sallaAllahu alaihi wassalam- said:
“Seek refuge in Allah from the trials –what is apparent of them and what is concealed.”
Fourthly: *Remaining silent and avoiding involvement in trials, especially in public political matters.*
He -sallaAllahu alaihi wassalam- said:
“Indeed, the truly happy one is the one who is kept away from tribulations.”
Fifthly: *Increasing acts of worship and abandoning excessive speech.*
He -sallaAllahu alaihi wassalam- said:
“Hasten to perform [good] deeds before trials and tribulations like the pitch-black darkness [appear].”
