MDEC had the honour of hosting the Uganda Business Study & Industry Exchange Session at MDEC Bangsar South, a meaningful platform to explore collaboration in the digital economy and public sector digitalisation. Led by Ir. Wan Murdani, Head of Digital Industry Acceleration at MDEC, the session began with an insightful presentation on Malaysia’s digital transformation journey, followed by a sectoral sharing by Navin Sinnathamby, Senior Manager of AgTech. We were honoured to receive the esteemed Ugandan delegation, comprising Hon. Alice Karamuzi Kaboyo, Minister of State, Office of the Prime Minister (Luweero Triangle and Rwenzori Region); Hon. Robert Kasule Sebunya, Head of the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit (PMDU); Mr. Simon Kimono, Deputy Head of PMDU; and Dr. Pius Akankwasa, Health Sector Expert at PMDU. The session was co-organised with PEMANDU Associates, represented by their Senior Vice President, Khairul Danish Haron. A strong delegation of Malaysian tech companies including NexG, PosDigiCert, KGISL, Veriva, and AkatiSekurity, also participated, presenting digital solutions aligned with Uganda’s public service needs and digital transformation goals. Uganda expressed a deep interest in Malaysia’s digital journey with plans to invite Malaysian partners for knowledge transfer and future collaboration in key sectors such as AgTech, public health digitalisation and digital public services.
