The Updates tab keeps growing, and we now have 1.5 billion users who use it each day to check out Status posts or updates from Channels. We’re working on some features that will help channel admins and businesses grow their audiences in our app: - You’ll soon be able to support your favorite channels with a monthly subscription for premium content. - We are adding a way for channels to promote themselves in the channels directory. This will help them find their audience and help people find new channels to follow. - Businesses will be able to showcase themselves with ads in Status. You’ll be able to discover new businesses there and, if you are interested, interact with them right in WA. Important: this is all in the Updates tab, so it does not affect your personal chats and if you only use WhatsApp to chat and call you won’t see this. And of course your personal messages, calls, and statuses still end-to-end encrypted - we can’t see them.
