According to his family, Ghulam Jan was forcibly taken by personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC) on May 27, 2025 from Turbat city. In the immediate aftermath of his disappearance, the family launched a peaceful sit-in protest by blocking the CPEC route in Saami. The protest was briefly suspended following verbal assurances from the district administration. However, after receiving no credible update or progress regarding Ghulam Jan’s whereabouts, the family has resumed their sit-in, which has now entered its third consecutive day. This incident highlights the grave insecurity faced by the Baloch nation β€” including state employees β€” who are not exempt from enforced disappearances. Despite being a government servant, Ghulam Jan has been abducted without due process, and his family continues to be met with silence and false assurances from authorities, including the Assistant Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of Kech. The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) stands in full solidarity with the family of Ghulam Jan and supports their demand for his immediate and safe release. We reiterate that enforced disappearances are a violation of fundamental human rights and must end. #endenforceddisappearances #stopbalochgenocide
