_*BSNL Launches India’s First SIM-less Quantum 5G FWA in Hyderabad*_ *Why in News:* On June 18, 2025, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) launched its indigenous, SIM-less Quantum 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) service in Hyderabad, setting a new benchmark for 5G connectivity in India. *Key Highlights:* * *Soft Launch* : BSNL’s Quantum 5G FWA was soft-launched at BSNL’s Ameerpet Exchange by Shri A. Robert J. Ravi, Chairman & Managing Director of BSNL/MTNL. * *SIM-less Architecture* : It features a SIM-less design, allowing customer premises equipment (CPE) to auto-authenticate without requiring a physical SIM, making BSNL the first Indian operator to offer a production-grade SIM-less 5G service. * *Indigenous Stack:* The service is built entirely on an Indian-designed stack under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, including core, Radio Access Network (RAN), and CPE. * *High-Speed Connectivity* : The service delivers gigabit-class speeds, with 980 Mbps download and 140 Mbps upload speeds, offering sub-10 ms latency—ideal for UHD streaming, cloud gaming, and remote work.
