🇲🇹 Bħal-lum 106 snin ilu, nhar is-7 ta’ Ġunju tal-1919, fit-toroq tal-Belt Valletta ntiseġ episodju kruċjali fi ġrajjet pajjiżna. Mewġa Maltija, għatxana għall-bidla, imxebbgħa mill-għaks u l-frustrazzjoni li kienu bħal donnhom belgħu lil gżiritna wara tmiem l-Ewwel Gwerra Dinjija, ħasdet it-tmexxija kolonjali Ingliża ta’ dak iż-żmien. Għalkemm bi prezz qares, għal uħud anke b’ħajjithom, dan l-iżbroff minn qalb il-poplu kien pedina importanti fit-triq lejn Malta indipendenti. 🇬🇧 Exactly 106 years ago, on the 7th of June 1919, a crucial episode in our history was woven in the streets of Valletta. A Maltese wave, thirsty for change, swayed by the poverty and frustration that overshadowed our islands after the end of the First World War, shocked the British colonial government of the time. Although at a bitter price, for some even with their lives, this outburst from the people's hearts was an important step on the way to an independent Malta.
