The Training and Placement Division of Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya (SCSVMV) successfully organized Counseling Session on “Civil Services – A Great Career Opportunity” on 04-06-2025 in association with Sri Kanchi Mahaswami IAS Academy and Sri Sankara Arts & Science College, Enathur. Students from SCSVMV and Sri Sankara Arts & Science college, Enathur, attended the session. Shri K.V.S. Gopalakrishnan, IPS (Retd.), emphasized that passion and courage are essential qualities for successfully clearing the Civil Services Examination. He quoted the knowledge and power of Swami Vivekananda, highlighting that Vivekananda had the ability to deeply understand, explain, and explore any topic from the books he studied. Similarly, aspirants must follow Swami Vivekananda’s principles to achieve success in civil services. Shri Gopalakrishnan also stressed that sincerity and dedication are crucial for clearing any competitive examination. He went on to explain the examination pattern, strategies for tackling both Prelims and Mains, and provided insights into the various types of civil services. He also responded to the students' queries with detailed and encouraging answers. Shri S. Ramachandran, IAS (Retd.), Member of the Advisory Committee of Sri Kanchi Mahaswami IAS Academy, honored the Chief Guest and gave a brief introduction to the Civil Services Examination. He also highlighted how the Kanchi Mahaswami IAS Academy provides support and guidance to aspirants in successfully clearing the examination. Dr. K.R. Venkatesan, Principal of Sri Sankara Arts & Science College, shared a few examples of successful IAS officers and motivated the students to aspire for and clear the Civil Services Examination, thereby bringing pride to their host institutions. Mr.Anand Parameswaran explained about the schemes and scholarships offered in the academy. Dr.M.Kannan, Placement Officer proposed the vote of thanks.
