*Solidarity from Allied Health Professionals* We acknowledge receipt of the solidarity message from the Coalition of Unemployed Allied Health Professionals. That is a positive step forward. As Medical Laboratory Professionals, we painstakingly started the necessary step to demand urgent redress for the longstanding challenges we face: discrimination, neglect, and severe understaffing. We acknowledge that the fight for financial clearance and recruitment is not just a sectoral issue - it is a challenge shared by many allied health professions and we accept your solidarity in good faith. It is however important to emphasize that MELPWU started this advocacy technically and administratively with specific mandate from its membership. We recognize that other professions under the Allied Health umbrella - such as Disease Control Officers, Physiotherapists, Nutritionists, Radiographers, Health Information Officers, and others - may face similar challenges but we do not represent them directly. Because their leadership and unions are distinct, we must exercise caution in our public statements in order not to overstep our boundaries when attempting to speak on their behalf without proper mandate. We have however informed their national leadership about our roadmap and ongoing efforts and will continue to offer full support. That said, this is a shared struggle. Any unemployed allied health professional experiencing unemployment, delayed recruitment, or workforce challenges is encouraged to join this call. Solidarity strengthens our collective voice and influence. This is not the time for silence or fragmentation. It is time for all of us to unite where our interests align - respectfully, strategically, and purposefully. Let it be clear that this struggle is about justice, sustainability, and quality healthcare delivery for all Ghanaians. It is not a political struggle or any selfish agenda. If you are affected, do not hesitate to step forward and join the call. Together, we move forward. In solidarity. National Secretariat, MELPWU Saturday 24th May, 2025
