*🛑 BREAKING: Police Capture Notorious Lagos Assassin “Olori Eso” in Ogun — Deadly Arsenal Recovered*
In a major breakthrough for law enforcement and public safety, the Lagos State Police Command has arrested Wasiu Akinwande, popularly known as Olori Eso, one of the most feared assassins and cult figures in the state’s recent history.
The suspect was apprehended during a stealth operation in Agbado, Ogun State on Thursday, June 20, 2025, following months of intelligence gathering and surveillance.
A Decade of Terror Ends
According to Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, Akinwande has been on the police radar for over 10 years for his alleged involvement in:
Multiple contract killings
Armed robberies
Cult-related violence
Kidnappings
His activities spanned across Lagos, particularly the Mushin axis, causing deep fear and tension in many communities.
What Was Found During the Arrest?
The operation didn’t just end in an arrest. A full-blown arsenal was recovered from the suspect’s hideout:
2 AK-47 rifles
1 K2 assault rifle
1 Red Ryder rifle
3 pump-action shotguns
2 locally made pistols
57 live cartridges and 70 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition
Nine international passports
Walkie-talkies, charms, and a dagger
The police believe these weapons were used in several high-profile crimes across Lagos and neighbouring states.
Confession and Further Investigations
Preliminary investigations indicate that Olori Eso confessed to numerous killings and gang operations. At least four families have reportedly identified him as the killer of their loved ones. The police say more revelations are expected as investigations deepen.
The Lagos CP has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the case and expand their dragnet to arrest his accomplices and dismantle his network.
A Win for Lagos, A Warning to Others
This arrest is seen as a major victory for the police and a strong message to other criminal elements still hiding in the shadows. The public is urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies in exposing criminal hideouts.
