The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued thunderstorm warnings for several states, with heavy rain and strong winds expected to persist until 6pm today (Sunday, 15 June). These alerts cover parts of Perak—including Muallim, Kinta, Manjung, and Kuala Kangsar—as well as most of Pahang, Terengganu, and Selangor. Specific districts in Johor and Sabah are also on the watchlist, with rough conditions forecast across both the peninsula and Borneo.
In the east coast states, the entire Terengganu region has been flagged, alongside areas like Rompin and Tanah Tinggi Cameron in Pahang. Over in Selangor, Gombak, Sabak Bernam, and Hulu Selangor are among the locations likely to be affected. Southern districts such as Segamat, Batu Pahat, and Pontian in Johor are also included. In Sabah, alerts cover both the West Coast—spanning Papar, Kota Kinabalu, and Tuaran—and interior areas such as Ranau, as well as Tawau and Tongod.
