The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a cautionary advisory, urging countries to remain vigilant and closely monitor the evolution of new COVID-19 variants. Meanwhile, South Africa has introduced a mandatory biometric verification process for applicants of the COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant, effective June 7, 2025.
