In our #yio neighbourhood, I’ve met residents who once spent their days caring for others—retired hairdressers and stylists whose hands still remember the rhythm of their craft. Though their working days are behind them, many shared a simple wish: to give back in small, meaningful ways. That’s how the Mobile Haircut Service began. PAP Yio Chu Kang listened to our seniors—especially those who can’t leave their homes easily—and responded with something simple, yet thoughtful. Since April 2024, these volunteers have been offering free haircuts to homebound residents. It’s not just about grooming—it’s about bringing comfort, confidence, and a little lift to their week. Week by week, home by home, the service continues. And every snip of the scissors feels like a quiet reminder: you are not forgotten.
