🎉 Celebrate Windrush Day 🖼️ Windrush Day marks the arrival of HMT Empire Windrush at Tilbury Docks in Essex from Jamaica on 22 June 1948. It’s an annual celebration of Caribbean culture and the legacy of the Windrush generation. Want to learn more about our recent history? There's loads on to celebrate in Greenwich: 📷 The Way We Were: Women Pioneers of the Caribbean 📍Tramshed lobby, 51 to 53 Woolwich New Road, SE18 6ES 📅 Monday to Friday, 10am to 8pm 📅 Saturday, 10am to 3:30pm There’s still time to catch the Caribbean Social Forum’s FREE exhibition, funded by the council. 🎨 Windrush at Royal Museums Greenwich 📍 National Maritime Museum 📅 Saturday 21 June, 11am to 4pm A day of creative workshops and talks to explore the significance of the arrival of HMT Empire Windrush and the legacies of the Windrush generation.
