*40. Attitude of Gratitude*
Gratitude is not just about thanking people, but it is the "selfless attitude and belief" that many people contribute to our success.
Many times, we consider the help from other people as their duty & take it for granted. Is it not the fact that whatever we are today, is due to the efforts and contributions of many people? It is certain that the success as achieved by us, could not have been possible just on our own!
Also, we may note a fact, that there was someone who stood by us in our tough times, encouraging actively or just being there, nodding, nudging passively. We need to acknowledge these very important persons in our life and also "Thank God" to help pull us out of difficult times or a situation. This is actually the *feeling of Gratitude*.
Small words like "Thank you or I appreciate" and or just a big hug are important and a way of *showing and practicing Gratitude*.
Psychologists believe that making a habit of expressing gratitude improves overall health. One way to start it is, no matter how small, make a list of persons who have helped us in past and take the time to say "Thank you" and enjoy its resultant goodwill as bonus.
