Cameroon has just ratified the new version of the European Union, EU, Trade Pact with African, Caribbean and Pacific nations, EU-ACP Trade Pact, (Samoa Agreement), which replaces the Cotonou version that expired since 2020.
The new deal will also last for another 20 years, according to EU, which asserted that the Samoa Agreement is necessitated in a context where global geopolitical, economic and social landscape has undergone significant transformations.
The vision-bearers insists that the end of the Cold War reshaped international alliances and saw the emergence of new economic and political powers.
