A Historic Moment at NDA!
With the hills of Sahyadri echoing the spirit of Auld Lang Syne, the 148th Passing Out Parade at the National Defence Academy (NDA) marked a proud and unforgettable milestone—the first batch of women cadets graduated alongside their male counterparts!
Out of 336 cadets, 17 brave young women passed out after completing 3 years of intense training. This moment is more than just ceremonial—it’s a powerful symbol of gender inclusion and evolving leadership in the Indian Armed Forces.
From WWI nurses to frontline officers, from court battles to commanding roles, Indian women have come a long way in the Army. Today, they serve in Siachen, join prestigious staff courses, and even lead in international missions.
Yet, challenges remain—bias, limited combat roles, and gaps in policy.
But change is happening—thanks to Supreme Court rulings and policy reforms.
This is not just about breaking barriers. It’s about building a stronger, diverse, and more inclusive force for tomorrow.
