*SHALOM* *DAY 5 -NOVENA TO THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS* *THEME: KNOW THE HEART THAT LOVES YOU MOST* *SUNDAY - 22/06/2025* *PRAYER INTENTIONS.....* *_The Heart that Longs for You_* Today we pray for those who feel distant from God, that they may realize how deeply Jesus longs for them. Today we pray for the grace to respond to God's longing with sincere love and personal prayer. *MEDITATION* *(Revelation 3:20) Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me.”* *(John 15:15) “I no longer call you servants… but friends.”* *🎈🌾 The Waiting Heart* Imagine someone who waits for you every Day, not with impatience, but with love. Imagine someone who knows your weaknesses, your distractions, your silence, and still chooses to wait. That someone is Jesus. The Sacred Heart of Jesus is not only wounded or merciful, it is a Heart that longs. Longs for your company, your voice, your attention, not to control you, but to love you and be loved by you. Jesus’ desire for friendship is not symbolic. It is real. When He told His disciples, “I call you friends,” (John 15:15) He revealed His deepest longing: a relationship, not a ritual; communion, not just obedience. He wants your presence more than your performance. This longing is echoed in the image of the Sacred Heart, aflame, exposed, and vulnerable. It is a love that does not force itself, but gently knocks, as Revelation 3:20 tells us. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock…” He does not break the door, He knocks and waits. St. Thérèse of Lisieux once wrote, “Jesus is more tender than a mother… and even more eager to forgive than we are to sin.” His longing isn’t about His lack, it’s about His overflowing love that can’t rest until it finds us. And yet, how often we drift, into distraction, busyness, or even spiritual fatigue. But no matter how far we go, He never stops longing. And when we return, even faintly, He runs to us, not with rebuke, but with rejoicing. Today, let us open the door. Even just a little. Let us recognize the longing in His Heart, and respond with the gift of our presence. *In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. We come before You now to consecrate ourselves, our families, and our nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Lord, we offer You every joy and sorrow, every hope and struggle. We unite to the Heart of Jesus all who suffer, all who search for meaning, all who feel forgotten. May His Heart be a refuge for the broken, a flame for the cold, and a compass for the lost.
