Mental health support does not always have to come exclusively from a clinic. Sometimes, the most powerful solutions are rooted in the culture and traditions we have had all along. Culturally resonant innovations can make support more accessible and meaningful, complementing professional clinical help. For instance, communal problem-solving circles create a safe space for men to share struggles and find solutions together, leveraging the power of collective wisdom. Creative expression, like junk sculpture or mbira music therapy, can offer men a way to process emotions without words. Even farming cooperatives (mushandirapamwe) can become therapeutic, blending hard work with camaraderie and purpose. Another powerful approach is blending tradition with modern therapy, as in Friendship Bench, where grandmothers, trusted pillars of wisdom, provide counseling that feels natural, not clinical. It is also however important that individuals still have access to and guidance from professionals. #ndinewe #menfeel
