It was a pleasure to welcome President Santiago Peña on his State Visit to Singapore — the first ever by a President of Paraguay. Though our countries are geographically distant, Singapore and Paraguay share many similarities. We are both small states navigating a complex world, surrounded by larger neighbours, and committed to multilateralism and free trade. I hope President Peña’s visit will open new avenues for cooperation and foster stronger ties between our peoples. In an increasingly uncertain world, it is vital that like-minded countries continue to work together.
