IBRAHIM SANI HEADLINES KANO PILLARS U-19 SQUAD FOR 2025 NATIONAL YOUTH LEAGUE SUPER 8 PLAYOFFS IN LAGOS Kano Pillars FC is delighted to announce the squad for the 2025 National Youth League Super 8 Playoffs scheduled to take place in Lagos, with the immensely talented Ibrahim Sani Halliru leading the charge. The wing wizard, who has risen through the ranks at the club’s youth system, has already made senior team appearances during the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League season. His inclusion is a testament to his hard work, technical prowess, and dedication to the badge of Sai Masu Gida. Coach Nasiru Rasha, who has been instrumental in the team’s growth this season, carefully selected a competitive squad poised to challenge for honours at the national stage. The Young Sai Masu Gida have shown impressive form throughout the regular season, finishing second in the Northern Conference level on points with Plateau United U-19 but behind on goal difference. The team has since arrived Lagos and the players are in high spirit ahead of the opening game on Monday. Following the official draw for the Super 8, the Young Sai Masu Gida U-19 have been placed in Group A alongside Enyimba Int’l U-19, Kwara United U-19, and Plateau United U-19 in what promises to be an electrifying and tightly contested group. The Pyramid City side will open their campaign against Plateau United on Monday, 23rd June 2025, before locking horns with Kwara United in their second group game. The final group match will witness the first-ever Zobia Clasico at youth level as Kano Pillars take on Enyimba Int’l in a clash that is expected to draw wide attention from fans and pundits alike. Coach Nasiru Rasha expressed confidence in his squad, stating: “We are fully prepared. The players are motivated and understand what is at stake. Our goal is not just to participate but to win. We are going to Lagos to make the people of Kano proud.” In further show of support and commitment to youth development, the Kano State Government, through the Honourable Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, has provided all necessary backing to ensure a smooth and successful campaign. Speaking on behalf of the management, Club Chairman Alhaji Ali Muhammad Umar commended the government's unwavering support and expressed optimism that the team would return home with the coveted trophy. “We are proud of what the U-19 team has achieved so far. This tournament is an opportunity for our future stars to showcase their talents on a national platform, and we believe they are capable of bringing the trophy home,” the Chairman said. The chairman therefore, calls on its supporters, stakeholders, and the football community to rally behind the boys as they strive to write a new chapter in the history of Kano Pillars FC.
