Government has introduced an amendment to the Energy Sector Levy which will increase the cost of fuel by 1 CEDI per liter to help resolve DUMSOR. The Finance Minister says it will be used to pay debts owed IPPs who generate the power ECG distributes to our homes and businesses. The minority is however opposed, arguing that it is a reintroduction of the E-levy that was recently scrapped. ME: Why donโt we just call it Dumsor Levy or D-Levy? ๐ค Iโm skeptical though of such levies that are introduced to clear legacy debts that are never cleared. There already exists an Energy Debt Recovery Levy in the petroleum price buildup.

Last Friday, I visited the home of Rev. Nii Noi Odonkor, the Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana to commiserate with him on the loss of the wife. He was my chaplain back at Okuapemman School and we had not met since I completed more than thirty years ago. He was one of those my dad asked to look after me when I was dispatched to the school and the wife Aunty Akweley used to cook food for the school community which was patronised by many of the students. Of course, I got special treatment because that was also my home.๐ We remember her fondly and on behalf of my school mates, we pray the Lord gives her eternal rest and comfort Reverend and the entire family. A book of condolence has been opened for friends and sympathizers to go sign and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the headmaster at the time I joined in 1987, Mr. Ofei Awuku, aged 90+ had already been to the house to condole. #RIPAuntieAkweley

Hopefully the โso-calledโ wealthy in society would also be added to this โblacklistโ as many of such have become notorious defaulters and contributed to the distress and in some instances, collapse of financial institutions. One manโs loan default affects everyoneโs cost of borrowing. #IYKYK

This elderly man must be tired of advising the youth to stay away from alcohol so he saysโฆ๐ Have a fabulous week. ๐

A Hohoe Magistrate Court has sentenced a 31-year-old painter to a fine of GHยข1,200 for insulting his neighbour as a witch and having bitter flesh. Fia Foli Philip, the accused, has also been ordered by the court to pay an amount of GHยข5,000 as compensation to the complainant and never call her a witch again. Chief Inspector Charles Aziati, prosecuting, prayed the court, presided over by Joseph Y. Kunsong, to severely punish the convict to serve as a deterrent to other people who call older women in society witches. He said such behaviour was intolerable and deviant from โour cultureโ. https://www.myjoyonline.com/court-fines-painter-for-insulting-neighbour-as-witch/?fbclid=IwQ0xDSwKrn8BleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHnYsN4ZrH7HrGrCG238TX62aQAp-dsJVc-C92v46OdjjmxuJLFY4o10EYO2s_aem_-je8FX7C9FXDQn4CGlQBCA

Iโve heard many say stuff sold at Primark are cheap and of poor quality. I disagree. For me though, itโs not about how expensive a clothing item is or the label on it. Itโs about functionality. Thatโs why I donโt have a problem mixing and matching stuff with my Bondaana outfits. The designer may not be excited, but the clothes are mine, aloo? #FunctionalFashion #Shada4Steeze #LookGood #FeelGood
