Mr. Smile Kobina Ametsi till last month has been Principal of the Accra School of Hygiene, located at Korle Bu in Ghana. Under his leadership, the institution has made significant strides in advancing environmental health education and public health training. Mr. Ametsi has overseen the introduction of the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health and Sanitation program, affiliated with the University Of Cape Coast (UCC). This initiative aims to equip students with the necessary skills to address contemporary environmental health challenges. He played a pivotal role in formalizing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Accra School of Hygiene and the Yale School of Nursing. This partnership focuses on promoting research, innovation, and the exchange of ideas to tackle global health issues. Under his guidance, the school has benefited from donations, such as library books from the Ghana Environmental Health Officers Association (GEHOA) and the Health Attitude Foundation, enhancing the institution's academic resources. Dr. Seiwu Bello A Champion of Student Welfare and Academic Excellence at Tamale School of Hygiene Till last month, Mr. Bello has been the Principal of the Tamale School of Hygiene in Ghana, Seiwu Bello has established himself as a stalwart advocate for the welfare of hygiene students. His leadership is marked by a deep commitment to improving the academic experience and overall well-being of students. One of the key issues he has been vocal about is the restoration of trainee allowances, which he believes has a direct impact on student enrollment. Bello has publicly expressed concerns that the removal of allowances has negatively affected the number of students willing to enroll in the program. He argues that this move has created financial hardships for many students, making it challenging for them to pursue their studies. Under his guidance, the school has become a platform for students to voice their concerns, confidence and fight for their rights. Beyond the issue of allowances, Bello has also highlighted several challenges facing the school.
