In this age of filters and followers, marriage has become gold-plated on social media shiny on the outside, but often hollow within. People chase aesthetics over values, matching outfits over matching souls, and forget that a righteous heart is worth more than a million dreamy posts. It’s not about marrying someone with endless Islamic quotes on their feed, but someone who fears Allah when no one is watching. Someone who may know only a little of the deen, but lives by it with sincerity, humility, and discipline that person is a treasure in this time of fitnah. We’re living in a world where privacy is rare, modesty is mocked, and DMs are filled with casual chats with non-mahrams, disguised as “just friends.” Instagram has become a trap—highlight reels hiding real struggles, likes replacing values, and halal boundaries crossed in the name of connection.

شیخ ابن باز رحمہ الله فرماتے ہیں ’’جب آپ سـے کہا جائے کہ ’’اللہ آپ کـو ہدایت دے‘‘ تو پریشان نہ ہوں، آپ کـو ہدایت کی ضرورت ہے، چاہے آپ لوگوں میں سب سے زیادہ متقی ہی کیوں نہ ہوں اور اگر آپ لوگوں میں سب سے زیادہ علم رکھنے والے بھی ہوں، تب بھی آپ کو مرتے دم تک ہدایت کی ضرورت ہے۔" مجموع الفتاوی ٧/١٦٣

*You’re not falling behind in your studies. You’re phone is pulling you away. Little by little. Ping by ping. Scroll by scroll. Your phone is doing more damage than you realise. Forget bad habits. This is a threat to your Ākhirah. To your imān. You say you love seeking knowledge. Then prove it with your habits. You *know* the phone is a problem. You feel it every time you struggle to concentrate. Every time you scroll past reminders that used to move you. Every time you sit down to study but can’t stay present. So do something about it. Purify the space around your ‘ilm. Protect your attention. Fix what’s pulling you away. You were made for more than mindless distractions.
