Reflecting on a Wonderful Opportunity in Singapore Dear Colleagues, friends and seniors I am deeply humbled and grateful for the recent opportunity to share my work on a novel nerve transfer technique for high median nerve palsy at the Combined Hand Summit in Singapore. It was a truly enriching experience to be among such esteemed colleagues from seven nations. To have been invited as the sole Indian delegate to teach this technique was an immense honor, and I am profoundly thankful to the Singapore Hand Society and its organizing team for their generous invitation and flawless execution of the summit. The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the collaborative spirit and the genuine interest shown by everyone present. I was particularly touched by the support and encouragement from my dear friend, Dr. Wee Lam, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Hand Surgery (European). His willingness to assist and learn the technique, and his kind words regarding its potential, were incredibly motivating. It was a privilege to have the opportunity to teach this technique to senior hand and peripheral nerve surgeons from various countries. I hope that this small contribution can contribute to improving patient outcomes. I am immensely thankful for this platform and look forward to further opportunities for collaboration and learning. With sincere gratitude, Terrence Jose Jerome India

Hemi-capitate arthroplasty Unstable dorsal proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint fracture-dislocations present a significant challenge, often leading to joint incongruity, instability, stiffness, and persistent pain. This video highlights a promising solution: hemi-capitate arthroplasty. We present the case of a 19-year-old engineering student who sustained this type of injury three months prior. The video demonstrates the successful application of hemi-capitate arthroplasty to address his unstable dorsal PIP joint fracture-dislocation. This innovative technique may offer several advantages over traditional hemi-hamate arthroplasty. By utilizing the capitate, we aim to minimize the risk of overstuffing the joint and reduce donor site morbidity. The search for innovative solutions to these complex injuries is ongoing, and I am excited to witness further advancements in this field. Dr. J. Terrence Jose Jerome India

Surgical Novel technique published in JBJS: A New Approach to DIP Joint Fracture Subluxation: Sharing the Technique and a Story of Recovery Dear Colleagues, A cardiologist's hands are essential for mending our hearts and saving lives. But what happens when those hands are injured? Recently, I faced a rare injury—a dorsal fracture subluxation of the DIP joint ( 2 weeks old)—that presented a significant challenge. Traditional treatment options provided limited solutions, which led me to explore alternative approaches. Inspired by techniques used for similar injuries in the PIP joint, I developed a novel method and introduced a "V sign" for the DIP fracture subluxation. I implemented intrafocal pinning and extension block pinning in this case, resulting in encouraging functional outcomes for this specific fracture pattern. I am pleased to share the details of this technique and the positive results observed. I am grateful for the support of my colleagues and the patients who entrusted me with their care. Their willingness to participate has allowed me to explore and refine this approach. Watch the video and read the full article at https://journals.lww.com/jbjscc/abstract/2025/03000/closed_reduction_and_intrafocal_pinning_for.24.aspx?context=latestarticles. I hope this information serves as a useful resource for managing this challenging injury and contributes to ongoing advancements in hand surgery. Sincerely, Dr. J. Terrence Jose Jerome India
