Core Stabilisation - one of the 5 pillars of Baptiste Yoga: https://youtube.com/shorts/Bd-SKFAEh68?si=EisNT5pB_rlHKYn4

Why “warmup” before workout? 55-80% of your body is water, so it’s ice before you work out. Going straight in breaks the ice, as in shocking your body, and hurting your muscles. Instead, you must melt the water first using low intensity movements then building up from there, hence ‘warmup.’ Your body is then made liquid, meaning it can safely take any shape, including the body shape you want.

Why use dance trends in a fitness session? Because it allows you to have so much fun you don’t even realise you’re working. Using movements from the Roboto and Amanikiniki challenges, vibing to Unavailable, cardio workout becomes a trend instead of a nightmare. The next time you find yourself dreading a workout, turn your favourite fast-paced music on and let your body do the rest.

Building and engaging your core throughout a Yoga session is referred to as ‘Core Stabilisation.’ This practice is so important that it is one of the 5 Pillars of Baptiste and other different kinds of Yoga such as Power Yoga, in which Grant Graham says by activating your core, you improve your balance, stability and strength while also cultivating a deeper connection to your body and breath.

Yoga is not a practice of worshipping cows, at least not the Yoga we teach. I used to think that’s what it is. So as a believer, I turned down my first opportunity to get into a class. Years later, I had to take up Yoga as part of my dance training. Only then did I realise I was wrong and that I was missing out on what I didn’t know I needed. Congrats to the sisters here for giving Yoga a try.

“Core… a group of muscles that… work together to… facilitate movement.” said Research. If you generally struggle to move, try the Journey into Power Sequence (series of poses from start to end of Yoga) because in it you must transition (change) from one pose to another in a way that forces your body to rely on the stability of your core muscles, therefore making it easier for you to move.
