Last week, AAHOA Officers met with key elected officials in Washington, D.C., to advocate for legislative priorities that directly impact our members and the hospitality industry. One of our top priorities is the LIONs Act (H.R. 1893 & S. 901), which would amend the Small Business Act to increase the maximum SBA 7(a) loan amount from $5 million to $10 million. This important legislation would provide greater access to capital for small business owners, especially hoteliers, and strengthen opportunities for growth in today’s challenging economic environment. AAHOA is heartbroken by the devastating crash of Air India Flight AI171 near Ahmedabad, Gujarat — a region that is the homeland of many of our members and their families. The London-bound flight crashed shortly after takeoff, striking a residential area and resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries.
