And beware of the hardness of the heart that makes you forget virtues, distracts you from good deeds, and weakens you from seeking forgiveness.
👉 In Du`aa al-Istikhaarah, when a person says that: “O Allaah! In Your knowledge, if this thing is harmful for me, my religion, or my Hereafter, then keep it away from me and keep me away from it… Shaikh Ibn al-`Uthaymeen said: And when he says: فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ, then keep it away from me and keep me away from it, 🔊Shaikh Ibn al-`Uthaymeen رحمه الله said: “فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي meaning: keep that thing away from me so that it does not become easy for me to do it. وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ meaning: keep me away from it so that I do not think about it, nor does my soul (or desire) try to chase it.” 📚[Sharh Saheeh al-Bukhaaree of Shaikh Ibn al-`Uthaymeen (4/256)]
Ibn al-Jawzī رحمه الله: "Perhaps losing what you wanted will cause you to turn to Allāh, and getting it will distract you from Him." [Sayd al-Khatir | pp.59-60]

لا تقنطَنّ إذا مـا شِدّةٌ عرَضــت أو غُمّةٌ في ثنايـَا الصــــدرِ تعتَلِجُ Do not despair when hardship comes your way, Or when distress stirs deep within your chest. سيُرسلُ اللَّهُ ما تحيَا النفوسُ بِـهِ والصبحُ عمّا قريبٍ سوفَ ينبلِجُ Allah will send what brings the soul to life, And soon, the dawn will break and end the night. ما عسعسَ اليأسُ مزهُوًّا بظُلمتهِ إلّا تنفّسَ في أعقابهِ الفـــــرَجُ» No matter how proud despair may grow in its darkness, Relief will surely follow close behind.
