The most violated process in the sales process is fact finding most salespeople are only concerned with closing a deal or booking a meeting. Through proper fact finding you can be able to qualify your prospect. If you don't do proper fact finding you can end the whole year chasing an unqualified client, the other key thing you need to know when you are doing fact finding is knowing whether you are talking to a decision maker or not.
