नेता प्रतिपक्ष राहुल गांधी ने एक बार फिर चुनावी प्रक्रिया की प्रमाणिकता पर सवाल उठाए हैं। चुनाव की प्रमाणिकता का सवाल नाजुक है और अहम भी। महाराष्ट्र में 6 महीने में वोटर लिस्ट में 56 लाख बदलाव कैसे? शाम 5 बजे 58% मतदान रातोंरात 66% कैसे हो गया? फॉर्म 17C, बूथवार वोटर लिस्ट और CCTV फुटेज सार्वजनिक क्यों नहीं? राहुल गांधी ने जो सवाल उठाए, वो पूरी तरह नए नहीं हैं, पर अब नज़रअंदाज़ नहीं किए जा सकते। चुनाव आयोग जवाब देने के बजाय सिर्फ औपचारिकता निभा रहा है — या विपक्षी दलों की नीयत पर सवाल उठा रहा है। अगर प्रक्रिया दोषरहित है, तो फिर पारदर्शिता से डर क्यों? और जब आयोग से सवाल हों और जवाब बीजेपी दे, तो शक और भी गहराता है। आज सबसे बड़ा संकट प्रक्रिया की विश्वसनीयता का है। चुनाव प्रक्रिया को सही बताने के लिए सिर्फ दावा कर देना काफ़ी नहीं है। चुनाव निष्पक्ष होने चाहिए, और निष्पक्ष दिखने चाहिए। लेख:

His answers remain unclear. But his questions are sharp, timely, and constructive. Ignoring them has allowed our nationalism to be captured by a fake variant. क्या मोदी सरकार अमेरिका के सामने कृषि व्यापार में समर्पण की तैयारी में है? नीति आयोग द्वारा इस हफ़्ते प्रकाशित ‘वर्किंग पेपर’, जो “व्यक्तिगत राय” के नाम पर जारी किया गया है, असल में मोदी सरकार की औपचारिक नीति की अनौपचारिक घोषणा है। विश्लेषण निर्यात का है, पर सिफारिशें आयात की — वह भी अमेरिका के पक्ष में। अमेरिका चाहता है कि GM सोयाबीन और मक्का पर लगी रोक हटे और आयात शुल्क घटे। नीति आयोग इसकी राह बताता है — तेल के बहाने सोयाबीन लाओ, बायोफ्यूल के बहाने मक्का लाओ। लेकिन कोई नहीं पूछता: इससे भारत के किसान का क्या होगा? मध्यप्रदेश और महाराष्ट्र का सोयाबीन किसान पहले ही झटका झेल चुका है। पंजाब से बंगाल तक फैली मक्का की खेती पर सीधा असर होगा। दूध, मुर्गा, अंडा, हर स्थानीय उत्पादन संकट में होगा। और अगर GM फसलें देश में आईं, तो क्या उन्हें फैलने से रोका जा सकेगा? यह शोध नहीं, नीतिगत आत्मसमर्पण है। नीति आयोग के लिए ये सवाल शायद गैरज़रूरी हों — लेकिन ये सवाल किसान आंदोलन को पूछना होगा।

Liberal education and activism are connected by an umbilical cord. Any attempt to decouple critical thinking from civic action frustrates the very point of liberal arts. Quality liberal education must produce humans capable of independent judgment, who act on their convictions. As Paulo Freire reminded us, education is inherently subversive. So how should a university deal with the consequences of what it teaches? Ashoka University’s handling of Prof. Mahmudabad reflects a deeper anxiety: Faced with a politically motivated witch-hunt, the university abandoned a faculty member at the first hint of controversy — and then joined the chorus. If this is the message from the founders, it is loud and chilling. But should this debate remain confined to Ashoka and its donors? Or must the defence of liberal education now rest with the public? Operation Sindoor must be assessed by three yardsticks: Did it deter terrorists and their handlers? Did it unify us as a nation? Did it advance India’s global standing? The answers are not easy or happy. PM’s dramatic claim that Pakistan promised ‘no more terror or military misadventure’ remain shockingly unsubstantiated — who spoke, to whom, where’s the written promise — with MEA’s shying away from it. From the unity after Pahalgam, we slid into trolling widows, targeting minorities, and silencing dissent. The world learnt of the ceasefire not from Delhi or Islamabad, but from Washington. The message: POTUS arm-twisted India. That cannot be a tribute to Sindoor.
