BLANTYRE SYNOD HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION  INTRODUCTION Blantyre Synod Health and Development Commission (BSHDC) is implementing the project titled, Program for Reproductive Health, funded by the German Government through Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) Development Bank. The Action by Churches Together (ACT) Alliance consortium of the project is led by the Norwegian Church Aid and Dan Church Aid (NCA/DCA).  The aim is to promote sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) among the youth in 6 districts across the country. BSHDC is implementing the project in Blantyre and Thyolo. The German Government through KfW has been funding the project since 2014.  The project is commonly known as N’zatonse and in Phase V. BSHDC therefore, seeks to recruit suitably qualified, experienced, and results-oriented and God fearing person to fill the post with immediate effect as below; Position:                     Project Officer Reporting to:             Head of Programs Location:                    Blantyre Duration:                   12 Months (renewable depending on funding)  Key Duties/Responsibilities Organize community Sexual Reproductive Health Rights structures and ensure their effective participation in the planning implementation, monitoring and evaluation of SRHR interventions in line with the N’zatonse Project concept. Facilitate Community capacity building trainings, for youths, women and men on SRH issues within the project impact area Conduct Community Mobilization, sensitization and awareness creating demand for family planning and other SRH services in the project impact area. Facilitate regular dialogues with communities and ensure their effective participation in the planning, management, monitoring and evaluation of SRH interventions are in line with project design. Supervise and provide technical support to community SRHR facilitators, new and already existing SRHR community structures within the impact area. Collaborate and network with other key stakeholders in the project within the districts. Ensure proper accountability of financial and other resources within the project. Conduct Monitoring and Evaluation of project interventions Data collection and management on the project activities Compile reports activity (Monthly, Quarterly, Biannual and end of Project)  Qualifications and Experience Degree in Public Health, Community Nursing, or Community Health, and Community Development. Those with additional relevant qualifications in SRHR will have an added advantage. Hands on experience on a similar assignment for a minimum period of three years is a MUST. Proven understanding of Sexual Reproductive Health Issues. Knowledge of project management at community level. Ability to mobilize the community and coordinate project activities. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and during odd hours. Nature and committed and practicing Christian.
