https://www.instagram.com/p/DKwEMwFBZDJ/ In one of our previous Real Conversations With Anita episodes, Dr. Beth Nolan shared an inspiring story that reframed how we see identity, resilience, and growth. She spoke about a former neuropsychologist she worked with—an accomplished woman whose identity was once deeply rooted in her career and qualifications. When she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, she lost not only her job and income, but also the identity she had long held onto. But rather than giving up, she rebuilt a new sense of self—one not defined by titles or degrees, but by strength, adaptability, and purpose. Dr. Beth reminds us that even when life takes away what we once relied on, there are always opportunities to rediscover who we are. Identity isn’t fixed—it evolves with us. 🌱💜 🎧 Haven’t watched it yet? https://www.instagram.com/p/DKvhOzUhkO0/ In the recent episode of NCD Frontliners, Dr. Saunthari Somasundaram, President of the National Cancer Society Malaysia, speaks with Puan Anita Abu Bakar, President of MIASA Malaysia, about why mental health is finally being recognised in the global NCD agenda. They talk about the gaps in Malaysia’s primary healthcare especially when it comes to early detection and support for mental health. Many people are still not getting the help they need — and that needs to change. 💬 Let’s build a system that catches people early, not only when they’re in crisis. Tuesday is the second line in this week’s story. Maybe the plot still feels unclear. Maybe the pace is slow. But not all stories start with clarity—some begin in confusion, in questions, in quiet. You’re still writing. And showing up is still part of the narrative.

https://www.instagram.com/p/DK-85WtBHNk/ Fear doesn’t magically disappear by thinking it away — it loosens its grip only when we take action. Every step forward, no matter how small, chips away at the fear and builds courage. Waiting for confidence to show up first is a trap; confidence is what grows after you dare to try. 🌱 So whatever’s been sitting in your heart — the dream, the idea, the conversation — take that first step today. Let movement be your medicine, and let fear know it doesn’t get the final say. 💥 #MentalHealthMatters #MIASA #FeelTheFear #DoItAnyway #SusanJeffersWisdom

https://www.instagram.com/p/DK0pZkjB7du/ How do you support someone who’s struggling with their mental health? 💬💚 In Episode 2 of our new series, we sit down with Puan Anita Abu Bakar, Founder & President of @miasamalaysia, for a warm and eye-opening conversation. She shares what not to say—like “just relax” or “don’t be so emotional”—and why empathy matters so much. 💭 Instead of trying to fix things, try saying: ✨ “I may not understand what you’re going through, but I’m here for you.” Sometimes, the best thing you can do is help someone feel heard and seen. 🌿 #MentalHealthAwareness #MIASAMalaysia #EmpathyMatters #ItsOkayNotToBeOkay #SupportNotStigma

Monday is the first page of this week’s story. You don’t have to write a masterpiece today—just begin. Even a messy sentence counts. Even a pause is part of the plot. There’s no rush. There’s just this moment, and your willingness to show up.
