📚 *தினம் ஒரு மிஷனெரி வரலாறு*📚 ✅ *மே 25* ✅ *தமிழ் Tamil* 👍 🛐 *பில்லி சண்டே Billy Sunday* 🛐 மண்ணில்: 19-11-1862 விண்ணில்: 06-11-1935 ஊர்: அயோவா நாடு: அமெரிக்கா தரிசன பூமி : அமெரிக்கா பேஸ்பால் என்பது ஒருவகை விளையாட்டு. கிரிக்கெட் எவ்வளவு பிரபலமடைந்துள்ளதோ, அதுபோலவே அமெரிக்காவில் பேஸ்பால் விளையாட்டும் பிரபலமானது. பில்லி சண்டே ஒரு விளையாட்டுப் பிரியர். 1800ம் ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பிறகு பேஸ்பால் விளையாட்டு பிரபலமடைந்தபோதிலும் திறமைமிக்க முன்னணி வீரராக விளங்கினார் பில்லி. இவர் புகழ் எங்கும் பரவ ஆரம்பித்தது. 1886 ஆம் ஆண்டில் அவர் சிகாகோவில் உள்ள பசிபிக் கார்டன் மிஷனில் அமைந்துள்ள திருச்சபையில் கலந்துகொள்ளத் தொடங்கினார். இந்த நேரத்தில்தான் அவர் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவை தனது சொந்த இரட்சகராக ஏற்றுக்கொண்டார். பில்லியின் வாழ்வு மாற்றம் பெற்றது. 1891 ஆம் ஆண்டில், பேஸ்பால் விளையாட்டை விட்டுவிட்டு ஒய்.எம்.சி.ஏ. 📚 *Daily One Missionary Biography*📚 ✅ *May 26*✅ 👍 *ENGLISH*👍 🛐 *Nikolaus von Zinzendorf* 🛐 Birth: 26-05-1700 Home Calling: 09-05-1760 Homeland: Germany Place of Vision: Germany Nicolaus Ludwig von Zinzendorf was an 18th century German religious and social reformer. Born in a noble family, he showed an early inclination towards theology and religious work. Though he was a Lutheran, history remembers him as a Moravian for protecting the German-speaking Moravian exiles in his county. His only obsession in life was to see the spiritual unity of believers irrespective of their denomination. He was perhaps the first minister to use the term 'ecumenism' (the principle of promoting unity among the different Churches) in the context of the church. After completing his studies at the Wittenberg University, he embarked on a tour of learning centers in Europe. It was at the art museum at Dusseldorf that he encountered the Savior. There he saw a portrait of the thorn-crowned Jesus with the inscription below it—"I have done this for you; what have you done for me?" Zinzendorf said to himself, "I have loved Him for a long time, but I have never actually done anything for Him. From now on, I will do whatever He leads me to do." Ever since his conversion, he set his eyes on serving the Lord. He bought the estate of his maternal grandmother to provide shelter for the oppressed Christians and named it Herrnhut. The persecuted Moravians were the first to arrive in Herrnhut, whom Lutheran Pietists, Catholics, Anabaptists later joined. With this diversity, discord soon arose between Christians, but Zinzendorff worked hard to unify them in one communion. He went house to house to counsel the people and gathered them for prayer and intense study of the Scriptures. It helped them to realize that as Christians they should live together in love. He also encouraged itinerant evangelism and provided the impetus for the Moravian missions across the world. True to that decision that he made in the museum, Zinzendorf lived only to serve the purpose of God. On his deathbed, he called his children and said, "I am going to the Saviour. 📚 *Daily One Missionary Biography*📚 ✅ *May 25*✅ 👍 *ENGLISH*👍 🛐 *Billy Sunday* 🛐 Birth: 19-11-1862 Home Calling: 06-11-1935 Native Place: Iowa Country : United States Place of Vision: United States Among the many baseball players who openly practiced Christianity, William Ashley Billy Sunday was a unique one. He exchanged his bat for a Bible and used his public speaking skills to save souls for Christ. Born in a poor family, Billy was a natural athlete. After spending some years in an orphanage and doing some odd jobs, he entered professional baseball in 1883. In 1886, he started attending the church service at the Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago during a baseball season. It was during this time that he accepted the Lord as his personal Savior. In 1891, Billy gave up baseball to become a YMCA (Young Men’s Christian Association) worker and initially started ministering among the sick and needy. His oratory skills didn’t go unnoticed, and he began receiving invitations to preach in many towns and cities. His meetings attracted huge crowds, and a revival broke out in America. Following the footsteps of D. L. Moody, he conducted revival meetings across major American cities. It is said that around 68,000 people committed to living for Christ in revival meetings held in New York City alone. His wife, Helen Amelia, was his pillar of support and was responsible for organizing the campaigns. Billy’s preaching style was very different from that of other American Evangelists. He preached the Gospel in plain language, and his sermons were always full of practical illustrations so that even the factory workers can understand. His sermons always called for practical application of Christian faith in societal problems. His preaching was instrumental in adopting the Eighteenth Amendment in 1919, which prohibited the manufacture and sale of alcoholic beverages in the US. When other preachers sought modern means of entertainment to attract people to churches, Billy Sunday solely depended on the power of the Word of God and remained a stalwart defender of conservative Christianity until the end. 📚 *Daily One Missionary Biography*📚 ✅ *May 27*✅ 👍 *ENGLISH*👍 🛐 *Samuel Paul Iyer* 🛐 Birth: 15-06-1844 Home Calling: 11-03-1900 Native Place: Tamil Nadu Country : India Place of Vision: India Rao Saheb is an honorary title. It was bestowed upon individuals during the British rule in India to individuals who performed faithful service or acts of public welfare to the nation. In 1899, this was awarded to Samuel Paul Iyer for his role in bringing peace to the riot-affected Sivakasi in South Tamil Nadu. When the political leaders could not intervene and hid themselves, Samuel Iyer intervened to put an end to the riots and help the parties make peace with each other. Samuel Paul Iyer had learned the Bible doctrines from Sergent Iyer. With the blessings of his teacher, he worked in Otacamund (Ooty) for nine years. Without any religious difference, he welcomed everyone and made them sit together, and preached the love of God to them. Even in marketplaces, he preached God's truth in plain language. His regular interactions with the prisoners helped them to chose a new way of life. He organized events called 'Kathakalatsepam' (a musical style of preaching) every month that profoundly helped people relate to the Gospel. After having worked in Chennai for four years, he went to a place called 'Satchiyapuram' near Sivakasi and worked as a head priest. He formed a choir with good singers and musical instruments and worked hard to bring revival to the local churches. He first introduced the 'festival of fasting,' which is still being celebrated across various churches to seek the Lord's face and pray for the revival in churches. In 1890, he worked as the editor of a Christian magazine and as an assistant pastor in a local church. He had written 42 books that have been encouraging many Christian believers to grow in the love of God even today. He has also translated a version of John Bunyan's 'Pilgrim's Progress' into Tamil.
