Digital piracy in Malaysia presents a growing threat to copyright protection, driven by rapid technological advancements and increasing online content demand. Despite the implementation of site-blocking mechanisms under Section 263 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and Section 43C(2) of the Copyright Act 1987, piracy continues to cause significant financial losses and undermine creative industries. This paper examines the effectiveness of these legal tools in curbing access to pirated content, evaluates their limitations, and proposes strategic enhancements to strengthen Malaysia’s anti-piracy framework in the face of evolving digital challenges. . This study investigates how Islamic Enforcement Officers in Johor address unauthorized Muslim marriages, guided by the concept of hisbah and provisions under Johor’s Islamic Family Law. Using qualitative methods, including interviews and document analysis, the research outlines four main guidelines and mechanisms—complaint reception, investigations, witness examinations, and searches—used in enforcement. Findings show that Saudi and UAE approaches demonstrate how global AI ethics can adapt to regional cultural and religious contexts. This study compares labour laws in Indonesia and Malaysia, focusing on historical growth, legal reforms, wage disparities, migrant workers, and occupational safety enforcement. Using a qualitative comparative analysis of primary legal documents, such as Indonesia's Omnibus Employment Creation Act and Malaysia's Employment Act 1955, findings reveal decentralization in Indonesia leads to uneven enforcement, while Malaysia's centralized system struggles to protect migrant workers. Both nations face challenges balancing economic growth and labour rights. The study highlights weak enforcement, informal sectors, and dispute resolution issues, offering policy recommendations for improved compliance and alignment with international labour standards. . This study examines the challenges facing the consent principle under Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) for health data privacy amid the rise of big data. Big data in healthcare enhances decision-making and service delivery but raises concerns about the adequacy of PDPA’s consent requirements. Using a doctrinal qualitative approach, this article finds that Malaysia’s consent standards lack clarity and suitability for big data contexts. This study investigates the future prospects of Islamic crowdfunding in Malaysia and its relationship with the Islamic banking industry. Semi-structured interviews with experts and practitioners reveal that Islamic crowdfunding complements, rather than threatens, Islamic banking. Strategic partnerships and collaborations between the two can unlock mutual benefits. While the findings may not represent all Malaysian crowdfunding operations, they provide valuable insights for enhancing industry practices.
