The postponement is primarily due to ongoing scope clause agreements in the U.S., which restrict the maximum takeoff weight for aircraft seating up to 76 passengers. The E175-E2 exceeds this weight limit by 5,400 kg (12,000 lb), making it ineligible for widespread adoption by U.S. regional carriers that operate under these agreements.
